Students participating in the Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Programs are offered a variety of excursions and tours to suit their chosen learning path.
Your child can discover a world of opportunities in the Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Academic Program offered at Governor Stirling Senior High School, taught by experienced teachers with specialist knowledge who will develop their talents and help them reach their full potential.
Your child will study with other gifted and like-minded students and follow a curriculum designed specifically for their needs. They will enjoy rich learning environments that are both challenging and stimulating.
Participating in an academic program means your child can:
All students enrolled under this program will have the advantage of access into our school’s approved Specialist Programs of Engineering, ArtsMedia and Football. Students will also have access to our school-based programs of Music and Netball
Students have the opportunity to develop their academic ability, work parallel with our Specialist Programs and excel in the areas of; Mathematics, Science, English and the Humanities and Social Sciences.
For entry to the Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Program, your child will need to sit the Academic Selective Entrance Test. Applicants are tested each year and the Guidelines for Application and Key Dates and Timelines are also available online.
Applications for Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance programs in 2026 are NOW OPEN.
Applications are open to students who will enter Year 7 in 2026.
Limited places may also be available for students who will enter Years 9, 10 and 11 in 2025.
Applications close February 2025 (check link below for dates) and testing will occur in Term 1, 2025.
